The factory tour explains the five core steps of orthodox tea manufacturing. First, the freshly plucked green leaves are withered using massive fans to remove moisture. Next, they are aggressively rolled in heavy machinery to break the cells and release the natural enzymes. Then, the leaves are spread out to oxidize and turn copper brown. After that, they are fired in massive ovens to completely halt the oxidation process. Finally, the dried black tea is mechanically sorted and graded by size through vibrating meshes. The entire intense, aromatic process happens right in front of you.
