Cricket blogger, real experience. TICKETS: for international matches (Test, ODI, T20I), Sri Lanka Cricket sells online through their official portal (announcements 4-6 weeks pre-match on slc.lk and their socials) AND at physical box offices at the stadium 2-3 days before. Foreign tourists CAN buy online but the site sometimes rejects non-Sri Lankan cards - workaround: buy through a local travel agent or hotel concierge for a small commission. Match-day walk-up tickets: usually available for domestic first-class games; for internationals ODI/T20I sell out quickly, especially India/Australia/England fixtures. PRICES: domestic 500-3000 LKR, internationals 2000-15000 LKR depending on stand and grade of fixture. STADIUMS by experience: (1) GALLE INTERNATIONAL STADIUM - THE bucket-list ground, ocean and fort rampart views, small crowd (~35,000 capacity when full), Test cricket only usually, atmospheric like no other. (2) PALLEKELE INTERNATIONAL near Kandy - modern, beautiful hill-country setting, good for ODIs. (3) R. PREMADASA in Colombo - biggest and loudest, the local-fan experience with papare bands and dancing, but architecture forgettable.

What to bring/wear: hat, sunscreen (Sri Lanka sun at 30C on an open stand is brutal), water in a sealed bottle (allowed), a small towel/cushion for concrete benches, and ID. Prohibited: cameras with detachable lenses over ~200mm at some venues, glass, alcohol from outside. EMBRACE the local fan culture - papare (brass) bands lead songs, entire stands dance for hours, the Sri Lankan crowd cheers big shots from BOTH teams. If you can get to a match against India there is a special buzz.

Galle Test tickets through my hotel concierge, going for the ramparts view. Cannot wait!
