To reach Polonnaruwa from Colombo: (1) Chauffeur car 3-5 hours USD 60-120. (2) Train + tuk-tuk for scenic sites (Kandy, hill sites). (3) Bus from Colombo Central Bus Stand LKR 400-1000 (slower but authentic). (4) Domestic flight to nearest airport (limited routes).

Chauffeur is most efficient for cultural triangle sites — flexibility to stop at multiple attractions. Bus adventures work for budget travelers with time. Some sites (Sigiriya, Anuradhapura) accessible via train + local transport.
