Visiting Baththalangunduwa is an incredible adventure. You cannot just casually hire a small lagoon boat; you need to take the daily passenger ferry that departs from the Kalpitiya mainland jetty early in the morning. The ocean journey takes about three hours.

Yes, camping on the island is highly popular among adventurous locals. There are no fancy hotels, just vast stretches of empty, windswept beach. You must bring absolutely all your own camping gear, drinking water, and food, as the island only has a small, basic fishing community.
