I am left handed. Do I really have to eat my rice with my right hand.

Yes culturally the left hand is traditionally strongly associated with bathroom hygiene entirely across South Asia. It is considered incredibly highly impolite to physically pass objects hand over money or aggressively mix food using purely your left hand.

When heavily eating traditional rice and curry with your bare fingers you must strictly attempt to use your right hand to mix and consume the food. If you are naturally left handed and find this physically impossible it is completely utterly acceptable and highly common to simply politely request a fork and spoon from the waiter instead.
