Popular spots like Ella, Unawatuna, Galle can feel busy in season but there's still plenty of quieter places if you go a bit off the main path. South coast has room, hill country too if you explore. It's busier than 5 years ago but still way more chill than Thailand or Bali in most areas. Just avoid peak times in the hotspots and you'll be fine.

Yeah some spots crowded but easy to find peaceful ones. Still feels special in lots of places.

I was in Hiriketiya last week, still pretty relaxed compared to what I expected. Depends where you go.
