Isso wade (prawn fritter) is a Galle Face Green and southern beach classic — a spicy lentil-batter fritter with small whole prawn embedded, deep-fried, sold from wheeled carts. Golden crust with pink prawn peeking out. Delicious with cold beer, evening snack.

Safety: eat only from busy vendors with fresh oil (bubbling clear, not dark). High-turnover carts at Galle Face Green late afternoon are safe bets. Avoid if the fritter looks cold or the vendor has been idle. Price 100-200 LKR each.
