26 Aug, Jaffna Fort. leftover drizzle leftover on the inner path. Elder in the group wants the photo before breakfast. Ordinary bags, no suitcase theatre. I do not want a sprain.

Wait. Jaffna Fort stones stay slick until late morning after a proper wet night. Sandals on that inner path is how you meet the clinic. Do the inner shade first. Nobody is closing Jaffna Fort. It is just wet.

We waited until eleven, walked slow. Fine. Flip-flops were a mistake at eight.

Kids: skip the inner path until it dries. Pride hurries a sunrise photo and hops home on one foot.
