Kalutara Bodhi (large white stupa on a small hill on the coast) is a very short stop right off the main road — locals stop by driving south to make wishes. 15-20 min visit. The beach town itself is not a destination — better beaches south (Bentota, Beruwala, Ahungalla).

Combine with the Richmond Castle nearby (early 20th century colonial mansion, small museum). Nothing that demands overnight. If passing through, the Bodhi stop is culturally worthwhile and free.

Quick Bodhi stop on the drive south. Thanks!
