Kanneliya (Galle district) is another significant Sri Lankan rainforest — biodiversity nearly as rich as Sinharaja, but more accessible (paved road access) and cheaper permits. Anavilundawa Falls hike, tree-top platforms, and Wana Nature interpretation center make for solid half-day.

Foreigner entry ~USD 10 with mandatory guide. Trails less steep than Sinharaja. Excellent for birders and photographers who want rainforest without the Sinharaja permit hassle. Best April-March dry-ish months. Half-day from Galle possible.
