Kataragama covering rules on a Tuesday with kids — is it a dress-code day or a festival I missed

Heading Tissa-Kataragama after Yala. 1 Sep is Tuesday, not a poya I know. Kids in shorts. I can pack wraps. I do not want to invent a perahera.

Ordinary temple Tuesday. Shoulders and knees. Wraps in the bag. Shoes off. No festival timetable. Esala in Kandy already ended 28 Aug and that was Kandy anyway. Buy a cheap wrap at the stall if you forget, do not change in the doorway. I will not invent a foreigner ticket beyond the ordinary board.
