Katina Cheevara (robe offering) is one of most important Buddhist annual ceremonies — after the 3-month rainy season Vas Poya retreat, laypeople offer new robes to monks. Held on a single day per temple, October-November period. Elaborate procession, chanting, community meal.

Best temples to observe: Gangaramaya (Colombo), Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara (Colombo suburb), Temple of the Tooth (Kandy) all host large public Katina ceremonies. Wear white, cover shoulders/knees, remove shoes. Book accommodation ahead — significant event brings crowds.
