A short tuk to Mahaiyawa, then walk; the Katugastota-to-Kandy vehicle line is the diverted one and a through tuk just sits.

Friends walked from near the junction and it took longer than the map said. We will tuk the first stretch and walk the last.

If showers pulse, wait the burst out under cover at Mahaiyawa rather than standing in spray on the main road.
