Kids 8 and 11 - too old for elephant orphanage, too young for Adam's Peak. What works?

Wildlife: Yala or Wilpattu safari (they'll love it, jeep bouncing is fun for kids, real animals in wild). Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home (feeding time at 9am, 12pm, 3pm - ethical, kids love it). Boat safari in Madu Ganga (mangroves, monkeys, small islands). Turtle nesting at Rekawa (evening walk in season). Whale watching in Mirissa (weather-dependent, book flexible). All age-perfect for 8-11.
For non-wildlife: Kandy Perahera if your dates overlap (fire dancers + elephants + processions - kids remember for life). Cooking class - not the boring adult version, look for family-focused ones in Ella or Kandy. Train rides. Nine Arch is fun for kids too. Little Adam's Peak they can 100% do (easy 45min climb).
