Kids generally welcomed at temples — locals bring kids to worship. Behavior expected: quiet voices, no running in shrines, removing shoes, hats off. Sri Lankan monks often smile at kids and may offer blessings. Kids under 5 given lots of latitude, older expected to observe basic decorum.

Socks + flower offerings + Kandalama first. Thanks!

Practical prep: (1) prep kids on what to see and expect. (2) bring water (very hot temple floors). (3) socks (hot stones). (4) small offerings (flowers) for kids to place. (5) tokens (candles, small donations). Adam Peak too strenuous for kids under 8. Sigiriya OK from age 8-9 up.
