Kids jumped at the rumble and now they are asking if 6:53 PM will be the same. How do we settle them this afternoon.

Call it a loud shower, dim the room, and promise ear cups for the drums; do not replay parade thunder clips.

A dim room and a snack, then a short walk under cover once the burst thins. Do not replay parade clips with thunder still overhead.

We called it a loud shower, put a story on, and promised ear cups for the drums; linking thunder to the parade only made them worse.
