Kids cannot see over shoulders now that the curb packed as the parade starts. Lift briefly or step back for a better angle. Not hotel foldable chairs, and not kids-already-tired on the approach.

A brief shoulder lift for the elephant pass is fine; set them down between sections so your arms last.

Stepping one row back often gives a clearer tunnel than fighting the front.
