Intermediate kiters, thinking 5 nights Kalpitiya then skip the south. Keep reading May-Sep is the SW trade season. How windy is late August and is the lagoon still working?

Primary kite season is May-Sep, talk is usually 18-25 knot SW trades on the lagoon. Flat, shallow, good classroom. Secondary season Dec-Feb. Slack months are often Mar-Apr and Oct-Nov. Lagoon is the lesson, ocean is a different day.

Wind was there late July. Bring a 7 and a 9. Mosquitoes at dusk, cover up after you pack down, dengue is ugly this year.

Beginner courses I saw around USD 350-500 for 9-12 hours. Beach itself is free. Ask the school, do not trust a blog number.
