Operator is willing. Water looks brown and higher. We are beginners. 23 Aug leftover rain inland. Not trying to collect a rapid for a reel.

After rain the water is a different river. Ask the operator if the beginner run is actually on. If they hesitate, sit. I will not invent a 23 Aug closure or a secret rapid. Helmet, listen, no drone. Tea and a walk is also a day.

They cancelled our beginner slot, we walked. Fine. The afternoon looked punchy.
