Sunday 30 Aug, hired van south after a Kandy week. Desk at the last guesthouse said we must stop for turtles. I do not want a speech or a fee I did not ask for. Kid likes animals. Partner likes not being trapped in a shop.

Keep driving if the stop is a shop with a speech. A hatchery visit is a choice you make at the gate, not a must the desk invented. I will not invent an entry fee. Hikkaduwa is still there. If the kid wants twenty minutes, agree the minutes before you leave the van.

We skipped the talk, swam Hikkaduwa inside the flags. Fine. No one clapped.
