21 Aug, camera bag, phone only, tripod stays packed. Leftover swell from the last few days. Kid already eyeing the shallows. I want a local, not a cocktail.

Stay where you can stand. Lagoon can still dump a toddler; stay where you stand. Leftover chop is ordinary August sea, not a brochure. No inflatables past the first break. I will not invent an official warning colour.

Try the shorter machine first. Queues are queues, not a shutdown I will invent. If both fail, town toward Matara, not a cousin POS.

One pin. Be down before you pretend you also have the second. Water, jumper, turn around. Pride stacks two climbs.

Walk-up is still ordinary. Prepaid is a seat, not a sighting. I will not promise a whale. If the harbour shrugs, sit Matara.

Come early or be honest. Arriving at a listed start owns a shoulder view. 6:40 is listed, not a promise the first elephant is on the kerb.

We waited at lagoon shallows, then walked toward Matara. Fine. The first quote was a speech. Lagoon can still dump a toddler; stay where you stand.

Kids: skip Polhena lagoon if they already melted. Pride turns lagoon shallows into a kerb argument and then buys a plaster. Sit-mat, zip water, leave.
