Lake at 10.15 is a handful of sitters and every shop shutter - is this empty or just closed
10.15 on the Queen's side. People were asking if 10pm was actually empty. It is not a river and it is not twenty people. It is six humans and a dog and every lake restaurant we walked at 8.20 is a steel shutter. Partner still wants the postcard. Is 10.15 the empty walk or just a closed shopping street with leftover sitters.

Closed is not empty. The postcard wall is where people sit because they do not want to go in. If you can see pavement and you are not stepping over legs, walk. Do not treat a shuttered rice-and-curry as a sign the road is a promenade. A jeep can still use the lane.
Lake restaurants that shuttered at six were already dark at 9.10 (that thread). At 10.15 they are still dark. Inland if you need a kettle. The walk is a walk, not a cafe crawl.
We did the loop of the wall at 10.12. Six people, two of them filming, shutters down. Fine for a photo if you keep moving. Not a place to sit.
