9.50 on the Queen's side. Last torch went in ages ago. People were asking at 9.10 if the lake was still a human river. It is not a river. It is twenty people on the wall with phones and a dog. Partner wants "the empty lake walk" for photos. Is 10pm the actual empty or do we wait until the sitters get bored.

10pm is quieter, not empty. The postcard wall is where people sit because they do not want to go in. If you can see pavement and you are not stepping over legs, walk. If you still need to shuffle, it is not your photo. Do not stand in the road because a jeep might still come.

Last night the wall had a hang until after 10. The actual empty was the inland side, not the Queen's postcard. We walked inland.

Sangaraja / the lake road was an Ampitiya corridor in today's plan, not a promenade. Empty-looking is not a closure gazette. Walk facing traffic, keep off any remaining tape.
