21 Aug, two of us, daypacks, no balcony budget. We already stood two or three Kumbal nights and mostly learned backs and umbrellas. Desk says fourth Kumbal is listed 6:40. Is Dalada Veediya pavement the actual line tonight, or is Raja Veediya the kinder gap with an exit. First timers still in our group, no balcony budget.

Hold Dalada Veediya pavement only if you will arrive early and sit low. 6:40 is the listed start, not a promise the first elephant is on the kerb at 6:40. Raja Veediya is a side view and an easier leave. Sit low and zip the bottle. I will not invent a reserved metre or a street fee.
Try the shorter machine first. Queues are queues, not a shutdown I will invent. If both fail, town toward Raja Veediya, not a cousin POS.
One pin. Be down before you pretend you also have the second. Water, jumper, turn around. Pride stacks two climbs.
