Landing at CMB at 2:15am next Tuesday - real talk, tuk tuk or book hotel transfer
3 Answers from travellers
Just take the hotel transfer or a PickMe. At 2am airside PickMe works fine, plenty of drivers waiting for late flights. Should be around 5000-6000 LKR to central Colombo. The 'safety' angle for solo female is fine either way tbh - CMB roads are lit and busy even at 2am. But the hotel transfer removes decision fatigue after a long flight. Not a rip-off for the peace of mind.
Solo female friend of mine (also 29) did this exact thing in June. Took a PickMe from airside, was smooth. Driver was quiet, didn't try to chat. Cost her ~4800 LKR to Colombo Fort. $45 is inflated - that's like 13000 LKR. If you're nervous, do it. But it's not necessary.
