Landing after 10pm and want the least painful hotel hop with bags. Is one side of CMB clearly easier for late check-in, or is it all the same tuk lottery.

Airport-strip hotels on the Katunayake side win for late bags - short hop, desk used to midnight arrivals. Crossing into Negombo town adds time you will not love.

Prebook a hotel pickup. Random curb touts at that hour cost more energy than rupees.

If your flight is already late, stay airside calm and message the desk before you exit - they hold rooms; they do not hold patience for surprise walks.
