We asked about a late checkout after a late occupied night. The morning clerk says the late-checkout person is not at reception yet. Wait in the lobby, or start packing for a noon out.

Wait, and ask them to write the request down. Plenty of desks still hold once that clerk arrives. Packing now just because they are not at the desk yet is how you rush tired kids.

We sat with tea. The late-checkout person came through later and said yes. Waiting beat a noon scramble.

If they already sold the room, packing is the only move. Get a clear yes or no, not a shrug, then decide.
