I saw the latest news about changes to the Sri Lanka ETA visa system Are the queues at the airport really that long right now

Yes, the new visa system implementation caused massive delays recently. However, the government just announced they are reverting to the old ETA website temporarily. Do NOT rely on Visa on Arrival right now. Apply online before you fly to skip the huge queues.

Make sure you use the official government website ending in .gov.lk. There are many fake scam sites charging double.

I waited 3 hours in the Visa on Arrival line on Tuesday. It was a nightmare. Buy it online.
