Sri Lanka has moderate leather craft — mostly Kandy area and Colombo. Odel and Barefoot stock curated pieces. For direct workshops: Kandy area has small tanneries and workshops making bags, belts, small goods. Look for quality: full-grain leather (not bonded), hand-stitching (not glued), zinc or brass hardware.

Prices: quality leather bag 8000-25000 LKR, belt 3000-8000 LKR — good value vs Western prices. Sri Lankan leather less soft than European but durable. Some designers (Buddhi Batiks, Elephant Story) do quality mixed-material leather-and-cotton bags.
