27 Aug, Pallekele, in midday heat. Two bags, last night. Desk will hold them if we ask. Need a local, not a brochure. If the festival continues to 28th Diya/Dahawal, do not pack us like it ends on the kerb tonight.

Leave bags at the desk. Hauling a suitcase into a crowd is how you meet elbows. Daypack and water. Pavement is pavement, not a reserved street. Fairly heavy rain possible west, hills, Galle, Matara — still not a colour code.

Monkeys are faster than your zip. Pallekele was the pin.

We sat two lanes in. One soda was enough. On 'leave bags at the desk or haul suitcases onto the kerb' — board, not desk.

We did not invent a fee. Desk tried. We walked. Pallekele was the pin.
