I want to visit waterfalls without the big groups and entrance fees. Any recommendations?

There are dozens of smaller waterfalls across the hill country and wet zone that locals know but tourists rarely visit. Some require short walks or asking directions. Examples include various falls near Ella, Haputale, and in the Knuckles area. Many don't have official entrances or fees. A local driver or guesthouse host can take you to beautiful spots with almost no one else there. Always check water levels and safety, especially after rain. These places often feel more special than the famous ones.

Our driver took us to a small fall near our guesthouse that wasn't in any guidebook. It was peaceful and we had it to ourselves.
