Sri Lanka's Old Reserve (aged coconut rum, Rockland brand — genuinely excellent, ~USD 15-25 per bottle in Colombo) is a serious rum by international standards. Also Ceylon Arrack Reserve, DCSL premium bottles. Different from Caribbean sugarcane rums — coconut arrack based, honey-caramel-cinnamon notes.

Best buys: Colombo duty-free (departures) has better prices than tourist shops. Ask at Wine World and Cellar Master shops. Age matters — 12-year aged Old Reserve is a genuine collector's rum. Great gift, easy to pack.
