Locals dart across in a gap between troupes. Are tourists warned off, or is it ok if a volunteer waves us through. Watching on the curb after the 6:44 PM start.

Tourists should not copy gap-dashes on their own. Only cross if a volunteer or officer clearly waves your group through, then move straight and fast without stopping for photos.

If you hear whistles mid-gap, abort and step back immediately.

With kids, never attempt it — stay planted.
