Best beach long-exposure: Mirissa parrot rock, Coconut Tree Hill area (rock foreground), Galle Fort ramparts north side (spray on stones), Trincomalee Nilaveli reef pools at low tide. Waterfalls: Diyaluma from side view, Ravana Falls, Baker's Falls. Best in shade or blue hour.

Gear: 6-stop ND for daylight, 10-stop for silky waves, polarizer for reflection. Tripod essential. Shutter speeds: 1-8 seconds for silky wave motion, 15-30 seconds for very smooth glassy look. Bracket for HDR when the sun is in frame.
