Someone lost a flip-flop in the crush after the whip section. Keep going one-shoe, or peel to a side street immediately. Not the closed-toe versus flip-flops debate from before the lock.

Peel to a side street as soon as you can move without shoving. One-shoe on uneven paving through a moving cortege is how ankles twist. Do not crawl back into the lane hunting the sandal.
