(3) File police report at nearest station (1 hour, gets a case number). (4) Have backup card + some cash ready always. Emergency card replacement takes 3-10 days to Sri Lanka.

Prevention: notify bank of travel dates pre-trip. Carry TWO cards from different banks (Visa + Mastercard) in separate places. Keep photo of card fronts in encrypted app for reference. Western Union or MoneyGram can wire emergency cash from home.
