Yes, unfortunately. The toque macaques around Unawatuna and Jungle Beach have become heavily habituated to human food. They are drawn to the high sugar content in sweet, fruity cocktails like Piña Coladas and Mojitos. Over time, some troops have actually developed a taste for the alcohol itself. Never leave a sugary drink unattended on your table. If they grab it, let them have it; do not fight them for it, as they can bite and carry rabies.

That is wildly irresponsible of the beach clubs not to warn people. A drunk monkey falling out of a palm tree sounds hilarious until it lands on your table.
