Saturday 22 Aug, Mahaiyawa. Passing cell at 5th Kumbal, umbrella already in a fist in the pinch. Partner wants the photo. I want the feet. If lake road is kinder, say so.

A passing cell is not a gazette cancel. Poncho, not umbrella in a crush. Shoes you can dump. Walk if you have grip and the rain has stopped. Pride sprains on slick laterite.

Poncho. Umbrella on that pinch is a fight. They run wet if it is the procession.

Kids: sit. Pride turns Mahaiyawa into a speech at the kerb. Then tea.

Seated later. Unreserved standing with shells is how you hate Saturday.

Passport at the counter. A cousin SIM is how you buy a headache. Ordinary.

We waited until it was dull and dry. Flip-flops were a mistake at eight.
