Met put thunder on Ampara and Batticaloa after 2pm - we are in Passekudah, do we stay in

Advisory was heat. Then the 21 Aug forecast added showers or thundershowers at a few places in Ampara, Monaragala, Batticaloa after 2. Sky went bruise mid-afternoon, lagoon was glass. Do we cancel a night swim later or is a few places not this bay.

"A few places after 2" is not a bay-wide red. If you can hear thunder, get off the water - lagoon and sea. Lightning on a flat east bay is the actual risk, not the rain volume. Heat is still the all-day story; thunder is the half-hour story.

We sat on the verandah, it missed us, we swam at 6.30. Different cove from Batticaloa town.
