Minneriya reservoir at 36 percent - still a Gathering jeep Sunday or skip

Ada says the Minneriya tank has dropped further to 36 percent, about 40,000 acre-feet of 110,000, and the Yala cultivation release is due to finish in a couple of days. We wanted a Gathering jeep Sunday. Still book it, or skip because the tank looks low.

Still book the Sunday jeep if that is why you came. A tank at 36 percent is a low tank, which is when grass shows and herds use the edge. The cultivation release ending is irrigation, not a park notice. Ask the jeep desk Sunday afternoon where the herds actually are. Do not invent that Minneriya shut.

We kept the jeep. Tank looked low from the road and we still saw a working afternoon. Heat is the real caution, not a closed gate.

Skip only if you already wanted a rest day. A 36 percent note is not a refund. Nobody honest will promise a postcard count.
