Mirissa harbour chalk already promising whales at 6 — marine amber is Hambantota–Pottuvil, not this bay, or am I reading it wrong
Chalk board: whales guaranteed, leave 6. I know guarantees are a lie. Separate question: is Wednesday's marine Amber the south-east stretch only? Mirissa feels west of Hambantota. I will not pay a colour and I will not invent an all-clear for the west.

You are reading it right. Last named Amber is Hambantota to Pottuvil until 11:30. Mirissa harbour is not that stretch. That does not make whales a promise and it does not make an all-clear for every west bay. Chalk 'guaranteed' is a brochure. Flags and the skipper's actual call in the morning. No whale is promised.
Tangalle is also west of that named stretch. Ordinary leftover chop is still chop.
From here to Pottuvil is the named sea. Fetch the PDF. Do not remix Mirissa onto it.
