Not insisting on swimming. Is a Mirissa or Unawatuna Sunday still worth it for cafes and cliff views when the sea looks lively, or does the whole strip feel shut and gloomy.

Cafes and cliff walks still work. Lively sea is dramatic from above even when boats stay in.

Pick a place with indoor seating in case showers or spray pick up. Do not plan the day around a swim.
