Troop on the rampart at Church Street, August humidity, they look bored and professional. Two of us has a biscuit packet. I have a zip that already failed once.

Zip everything. Skip feeding. The rampart is their office when bins are interesting. They will open a latch you thought was cute. Walk the other side if the troop is sitting the wall. This is Church Street life, not a wildlife ticket. Do not throw food to make them leave.

We skipped that stretch. Fine. Biscuit stayed in the bag.

A packet in a child's hand is an invitation. Put it away before you climb.

They are not pets. Pride takes a selfie and loses a sunglass.

If you must pass, bags on the chest, not the back.

We waited five minutes, they moved. Ordinary.

Do not invent a ranger fee to shoo monkeys. Walk around.

Closed bottles. Open snacks are a letter to the troop.
