My flight lands same day as Wesak Poya. Am I screwed for restaurants?

Not screwed. Alcohol shops close (buy the day before if you want beer at your hotel). Some restaurants close, especially local ones. But hotels serve food normally, tourist restaurants stay open. What's actually magical is Wesak lanterns everywhere - streets glow with paper lanterns. If anything Poya day arrivals are cooler than regular. Don't move dates - embrace it.
^ agree. Hotel restaurants serve alcohol from stock (they can't sell newly but existing stock is fine, kind of a workaround). What you'll notice: streets quiet during day, then evenings come alive with lanterns and temple visits. Beautiful actually. Bring your camera.
