Navam Perahera (Feb full moon) at Gangaramaya Temple is Colombo's biggest perahera — huge urban procession through central streets with 100+ elephants, dancers, drummers, fire-eaters, whip crackers. 2 nights culminating in main procession. Very tourist-accessible, right in Colombo Fort/Beira Lake area.

Free streetside viewing on route (Sir James Peiris Mawatha, Sri Jinaratana Road). No advance ticketing needed for street viewing — arrive by 6pm for a 7:30pm start. Combine with dinner at nearby restaurants. Excellent alternative for anyone missing Kandy's Esala.
