Saturday 22 Aug, Passikudah. Nilaveli, Pigeon Island desk, leftover wind. Partner wants the photo. I want the feet. If Kalkudah is kinder, say so.

The pole is a pole, not a cocktail. Stay where you can stand. I am not quoting an official warning colour as a 22 Aug gazette. Inflatables past the first break are how you buy a plaster. The bar does not write the sea.

Inner path, closed shoes. Spray edge is how you meet the clinic.

If you sit a table, order. Occupying shade with a bottle you brought is the rude version. Fine.

Harbour board, no promise. We sat the bay instead. Fine.

We took the quieter fork. No one clapped. No gazette.

Muffs on the four-year-old. Ninety minutes. Then tea.
