Nuwara Eliya British colonial charm - is it still worth visiting?

Nuwara Eliya is still lovely if you like the vibe: Victorian bungalows, tea estates, cool climate (bring a jacket), racecourse, Gregory Lake, Hakgala Botanical Gardens, colonial-era Grand Hotel and Hill Club. 1-2 nights is enough - not a multi-day destination unless you love it. Best in December-February (dry, sunny mornings). Get scones and afternoon tea at Grand Hotel - kitschy but fun. Skip if you'd rather Ella (younger, more active) - Nuwara Eliya is quieter, more introspective.
Also worth: horton plains + world's end (2 hour drive from Nuwara Eliya) if the weather is clear. Otherwise it's a stopover town more than a destination. Combine with a day at Pedro Tea Estate.
