Nuwara Eliya. Light rain this mid-morning. Jacket on the chair is still wet from earlier. Wear it out, or leave it and take a dry layer.

Leave the wet one. A damp jacket in light rain just stays cold. Dry layer and a short walk. Hang the wet one open by the window.

We left it. Town tea in a dry shirt was enough. The wet jacket never dried on us last time we wore it out.

If it is your only shell, wring the cuffs and go. Otherwise leave it. The hill rain is not a reason to sit in the room all morning.
