Official tuk first kilometre vs what drivers actually quote on the road
I keep hearing the official tuk rate is Rs. 110 for the first kilometre and Rs. 90 after that, but drivers near Fort and along Galle Road are more like Rs. 110 to 120. Which one is real, and why the gap?

Both are what you will hear. Official existing structure is Rs. 110 first kilometre, Rs. 90 each extra kilometre. On the road many drivers charge around Rs. 110-120 because the NTC draft fare structure is with the Ministry and is not law yet. Ask for 110/90 on the meter. Expect some roadside quotes in that 110-120 band until a legally approved revision. Do not invent a new official table from this.
We got 110 to start when we asked for the meter. Short Fort hops still felt closer to the 110-120 roadside habit.
If they will not meter, lock a number before the wheels move. The draft is not in force, so that gap is normal for now.
