Offline Google Maps storage is full — which Sri Lanka layers do travelers actually keep?

Phone storage screaming. I have offline packs for half the island from an earlier loop and need space for photos. Still moving Colombo to the hills to the south this week. What do people keep downloaded — whole provinces, just the corridor they will ride, or transit layers only — without inventing a magic storage number?

Keep the corridor you will actually ride in the next few days — for many visitors that is Colombo plus the south coast or the hill line you booked — and delete finished regions. Update those packs on hotel wifi the night before a move. Transit and walking detail matter more than a whole unused province. I will not invent a megabyte quota as gospel. If storage is critical, one tight offline area plus online maps on wifi beats a phone that cannot shoot photos.

Kept Colombo–Galle–Ella corridor, deleted the east I had already finished. Phone breathed again.

Night-before wifi refresh of the next segment only. Stopped hoarding the whole island.

Deleting finished east packs tonight, keeping the hill and south corridor. Thanks.
